Dedication:
May this site provide inspiration, spiritual support, and practical guidance to all who wish to cultivate a flourishing mind of spiritual awakening: a bodhi-mind. And may we all, together, vow to nurture this precious bodhi-mind with the altruistic purpose of serving and uplifting all other beings within our lives.
Introducing “Bodhi-Mind Buddhism”:
A Practical Indo-Tibetan Synthesis for
Modern-Day Buddhist Practitioners
The Buddhadharma, like any other spiritual worldview, is taught in order to help transform the ways in which we see and understand ourselves, our lived experiences, and the world around us. As Buddhist student-practitioners, we seek to actively cultivate this fundamental reorientation of our perspective in the hope that we can begin to edify, uplift, and improve how we engage with life itself. With these goals in mind, the teachings of the Buddha and his disciples are deep, rich, and multifaceted, addressing realities and concerns that resonate deeply within the hearts of all thinking, feeling people. Why is life so often so painful? Are the sorrows of life inevitable? And what about happiness? What does it mean to live well? How can I be better for my family and loved ones? The Buddha sought to provide profound and practical answers to all of these questions and so much more. It is my goal to explore how these questions, and the Buddha's answers to them, can be applied to our own lives.
This site, "Bodhi-Mind Buddhism," is a passion project of mine dedicated to spreading the teachings of some of the most accessible, transformative, and pragmatic traditions of Buddhism currently available to the modern Western reader. The interpretive presentation of Mahayana Buddhism that I will be sharing across this site focuses on a harmonious synthesis of the ancient Madhyamaka (“Middle-Way”) philosophy from Northern India and the revolutionary self-cultivation methodologies developed by the Kadam school of Tibet. This particular “Indo-Tibetan” synthesis—what I refer to as "Bodhi-Mind Buddhism"—encourages us to study, contemplate, and directly apply the profoundly practical principles and living practices of these traditions in our daily modern lives so that we may come to maximize the inner-peace, joy, and spiritual flourishing that we bring to both ourselves and all others.
In service to that aspiration, the transformational power of "Bodhi-Mind Buddhism" lies in its modern, down-to-Earth approach and its systematic distillation of the Buddha’s teachings. This dynamic system of self-cultivation and personal development is structured around a comprehensive framework of study, contemplation, and practice that has been formulated with aspiring student-practitioners in mind. This functional, guided path of spiritual practice constitutes the heartwood of "Bodhi-Mind Buddhism":

The primary function of this site is to elucidate and expound upon this comprehensive spiritual pathway from beginning to end, providing actionable guidance and moral support to any who wish to enter into the world of Buddhism, regardless of their level of background knowledge or experience. The secondary function of this site is to share the beauty and wisdom of the traditional literature of Indo-Tibetan Buddhism, alongside my own modern, functional commentary, in order to help refine our understanding of the spiritual path itself and to deepen our engagement with the philosophical heritage that it is embedded within.
It is my hope that these efforts to teach and spread the living tradition and spiritual fruits of the Buddhadharma will lead to greater happiness, inner-peace, and freedom for both myself and all others who are willing and able to join me. By striving to cultivate and embody this spiritual way of life within our own daily lives, I truly believe that we can all begin to make meaningful progress along the Buddha’s path of altruistic enlightenment and spiritual awakening. Thank you for accompanying me on this journey, I look forward to learning and growing together.
May any spiritual growth that we accumulate within ourselves multiply unto others and serve them well!
